Restorative Practices creates a school culture that empowers people to take responsibility in solving problems and have healthy relationships.
Restorative Practices build stronger, safer, more inclusive, caring communities by including a range of processes to both prevent relationship-damaging incidents from happening and to resolve them if they do happen.
When conflict occurs, Restorative Practices enables the person harmed to convey the impact of the harm and for the wrongdoer to acknowledge this impact and take steps to repair harm caused. Restorative Practices supports and values the worth of both the wrongdoer and victim, and seeks to restore the relationship and integrate them back into their communities. This workshop will explore the principles of Restorative Practices and its implementation into the classroom in practical ways that work immediately.
The interactive training will cover:
● The Restorative Philosophy and how it differs from traditional class management methods
● Restorative Chats that are scripted questions to repair harm
